Peace is…
By Brishen Dearborn
Grade 3
Crestview Elementary School
Peace is quiet, peace is calm,
Just the sound of it makes me want to sing a song.
Peace is family, peace is friends,
Peace is when all the bad wars end.
Peace is perfect, peace is good,
I would do anything for it, I would.
Peace is still, peace is fine,
Peace can be anyone’s, yours and mine!

Peace
By Jacob Phillips
Grade 3
Mooreland Elementary School
Peace, a great thing to have
Not just to a family, to everyone.
Is peace right for everyone?
Yes, indeed.
What is peace?
It is what brings people and countries together.
I can do many things to help spread peace.
Love, care, and forgive are just some of them

Keep the Peace
By Dena M. Hillison
5th Grade
Bellaire Elementary School
Peace is hope,
Peace is love,
Peace is something from above.
Peace is mine,
Peace is yours,
It can’t be closed like a door.
Peace has its own mind,
You can’t change peace,
Like you can’t change time.
Heed and beware
Your life is done,
When the end of peace has come.
Peace is a luxury,
Just like gold ore,
Peace will live forever more.
Let the truth be told,
It can’t be hid,
It’s best to learn as a kid.
It’s best to understand
You have to keep the peace,
As future leaders of this land.
Learn to keep the peace.
If war you can not tame,
You’ll watch our country go down the drain.
Peace is our hearts,
Peace is our souls,
Peace keeps our minds and bodies whole.
We need to keep the peace,
Even as we grow old,
If we want to save our souls.
We’ll keep the peace,
We’ll keep it strong
Peace keep coming, Lead us on.

Peace
By Shawn Radle
4th grade
Crestview Elementary School
Peace is a feeling of love not hate.
Peace can grow anywhere it’s not too late,
Peace is a love you don’t want to hide.Peace is to be shared not kept
inside.
Peace comes with a smile, not a frown.
Peace helps people up, never pushes down.
Peace sees no color, shape, or size.
Peace isn’t stupid, it comes from being wise.
Peace comes from choosing to do what’s right.
Peace comes when you love not when you fight.
Peace comes from truth never from lying.
Peace never gives up, it keeps on trying.
Peace is love inside and out.
Peace can be kept without a shout.
Peace you can make anytime, anywhere,
Peace is everywhere even in the air.

What Peace Means to Me
By Alia Khan
Grade 7
Wilson Middle School
What peace means to me,
Is the joining of two hands.
What peace means to me,
Is no war between lands.
What peace means to me,
Is no battles or fights.
What peace means to me,
Is knowing the wrongs from rights.
What peace means to me,
Is to consider us all “brothers.”
What peace means to me,
Is not leaving out the others.
What peace means to me,
Is soothing a cry.
What peace means to me,
Is not seeing our men die.
We are all one,
That, you should see.
We are all together,
That’s what peace means to me.

The Door of Peace
By Sarah Helweg DiMuccio
Grade 6
Wilson Middle School
Peace is a thing that opens a door
Gives us something worth living for
Once it is open, kindness walks through
Following behind, love and happiness too.
Open and close, the doors never cease
And in the end, we all rest in peace.

Peaced
By Amanda Bullock
Grade 10
Carlisle High School
Corruption has always been introduced into this world,
But there’s still ways to surpass it…
Tragedies are forcefully clinging in our atmosphere,
But optimism is still somewhere near.
Don’t fight against it,
But work with it.
For, to heal today’s wounds,
To mend worldly pains,
Shouldn’t take celebrity fame.
One fame comes without blame…
Speak your opinion with strong will power,
And let a good heart have its shining hour.
Because,
To have one spark of heart,
Could help one part,
And many more can be the very heart of it all.
So much time,
Let’s try to make that right find,
Piece it together one by one,Then
one day, there could be an even brighter sun.

Flight
By An Nguyen
Grade 10
Carlisle High School
I lay in bed
Each dark, dark night,
And see my dreams
Spread wings for flight.
They soar above all walls
That lock me in,
Higher and higher
Beyond all my past sins.
To a kingdom
Where there are no lies,
To a place where the truth never dies
And in the kingdom
Where peace resides,
There I will find where my salvation lies. |
