Festival Children’s Alley February 29, 2008 Dear Community Organization: We invite you to take part in the 14th Annual Amani Festival, which will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008, on Dickinson College Campus. Please consider participating in our Children’s Alley by providing an activity (craft or game) for the children who attend the festival. If you would like to participate and are unsure of an activity, we can provide suggestions. We are looking for activities that provide children with a multi-cultural experience and that relates to our environmental theme, “Green Alley”. Crafts using recycling materials like baby food jars, paper tubes, water bottles, news paper, magazines or bags. If you need help with ideas, please feel free to call! The Amani Festival is open to the public and takes place rain or shine. All participants will be assigned a space under a tent located on Dickinson walk which is the Sidewalk from the HUB to the Depot which is directly behind the library. Organizations are asked to set up their activity by 10am and clean up at 2pm. You are welcome to bring fliers for distribution to promote your organization. Everything in Children’s Alley is free, therefore charging for your activity is not permitted. Prizes will be distributed to children who complete a certain amount of activities. The Amani Festival is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization designed to bring people from various cultures together to provide a forum for everyone to enjoy and learn more about each other’s culture. The Amani Festival Committee has a long history of working in the community to forge relationships between different cultures.
“We do not inherit
the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” Please share this letter with your organization and consider joining hands to make this year’s “GREEN Alley” at the Amani Festival one of the best ever. If you have any questions, please contact me at (717) 245-2073. Sincerely, Amy
