AMANI 2013
AMANI 2013
The Amani Festival is a once-a-year street fair celebrating the many cultures and ethnicities found around the globe. This all day event is held rain or shine in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. There are street performers such as a roving Mariachi band, Scottish bagpipe player, belly dancers, and others. Vendors sell foods, crafts, clothing, books, toys, etc. Food stands represent Thai, German, Chinese, Greek, and American cuisine - at a minimum. Other vendors sell wares from Latin America, Africa, the United States, Russia and elsewhere.
We’ve assembled a wonderful group of volunteers who are working to bring to the greater Carlisle community an outstanding Festival in downtown Carlisle . However, we need to fill vacancies on our Board and volunteer staff in order to bring AMANI 2013 to life. The following jobs are vacant:
-Board Chairperson, the principal coordinator of the festival
-Grant writer, prepares proposals to obtain funding for our performances
-Main Stage West Coordinator, manages one of our performance venues
-Interfaith Stage Coordinator, arranges performances from area faith communities
-Graphic Artist, creates our festival logo and designs our program
-Poetry Contest Coordinator, works with schools to develop this project
-Board Secretary, our communications link to our volunteers
Please email your area of interest at amanicarlisle@yahoo.com or call 717-609-2634 for volunteer and all general Amani Inquiries.
